alive d/row forum introduction

Greetings Abroad - my name is Chuck Thompson. I am a prisoner on Texas Infamicus death row.

I've been confined here as a prisoner of the State of Texas since MAY of 1999. Today I welcome you all to our online Forum. A little more about me the man behind the razor wire. I was born in Houston Texas June 13th 1970. Both my parents are alive an well, living in Houston Tx. happly married for 40 years. I am the middle child of three boys. I grew up in a middle class home, had a good upbringing. I went through some problems as a child - as most
ask what led to your going to death row - the story behind the story.

I can personaly atest to the youthful experimenttation with drugs and alcohol and the cause and effect it had on my education, behaviour and future. I am a divorced parent of two wonderful children. A girl and a boy 16 and 13. I never graduated highschool - nor got to attend the prom, or other socal school events that most of us experience in our youth. My drug use and bad behaviour resulted in my being incarserated in Colorado Qouth Corections at
the young age of 13 - my first time -- a whole summer in juvinal hall.

Eventually as alot of misguided youths do - I spirialed down the wrong path even further in rebelion. Ending up incarcerated from 1986- until 1988. In fact it was due to my turning 18 in June of 1988 that I was offered a chance to get early release. I took the emancepation program an was released that next week.

As a young man 18 years old- released with no education, no job skills I went to work as a dish washer for the 94th areo sqadron resturant. months later a kitchen fire burn the establishment to the ground. I sought a nex line of work- the only i could find - physical labor. I began unloading freight off trucks in various grocery supply wherehouses around the Denver Colorado Metro area.

I met a young lady - fell in love- kept working hard. bought a car, moved out of the State half way house i was boreded at. Rented an apartment, moved my girlfriend in with me ( my ex wife now). and went on to leed what could be sumed up as a productive life from age 18 until age 20 when the case I am currently incarcerated for occured.

As a parent and working man - I lived in a uninformed view of the adult system, as I had a bad experience in the juvinal system - I never ever consider the real big house - or what real adult prison must be like. Juvinal was close, but not in any way shape or form as I was about to endure as I was tossed into the adult system in 1998 in Texas.

As a member of the free world society I never pondered the use of capital punishment. I was as most indiferent to the execution of our fellow human beings. In all honesty when i would see the last minute 11th hour plea's on tv I would say human must be guilty and deserve it. (sadly thats how most americans fell) a majority. As I changed the chanel and did not give it a second thought.

If you are are ever flung into a system full of bliased against your will, illinformed and uninformed - your view of the world will forever be changed indeed. I never new what it was like to be discriminated against, stereo typed, labeld and hated. I now know the world is not as some view it through rose colored glasses. We as a advanced society are wearing
blinders to the inhumane execution of human beings in the name of so called Justice? It is not justice, it ist plain and simple an act of retubution - just another word for revenge - vengeance.

This venue is brought to you all via the World Wide Web to answer your yuestions & provide insight into the capital punishmend system In the USA. Your invited to inquire what life on the row is like. To ask whatever you Socienty at large, are curious about? Have misconceptions about. or anything your not clear on. Rather its before trial, trial, or the appeals process. I will atempt to every question & provide a view from a prisoners
perspective.

-2-

if your question is to complexed or above my inteligence, I will seek an informed educated answer for you.

I respect the people involved in this process - both sides of the fence. From victims to families involved on both sides. As we fell the executed become victims of the system. This forum is not provided to cause anyone any grief, discomfort or disrespect. It will not be used to facilitate any hate, revenge or fuel anger. It is for your questions and answers to bring awareness & educate the world. To understand and debunk some of the labels, stereo
socient places upon death sentence prisoners - to undo the monsterization of your fellow man. To reverse the very misconceptions and bring change. This forum is all about change awareness and hope for the end of the death penalty.

I leave you with only one stipulation - ASK - as the only stupid or dumb question in lifes journey is - the one we do not ask.

Respectfully,

In struggle & Solidarity
Chuck Thompson #999306

The one we do not ask..

Hochachtungsvoll, in Kampf & Solidarität
Chuck Thompson – Häftling Nr. 999306

Hello Chuck,

thank you for sharing some of your life and ideas with us.

You seem in prison since 1999. Thats quite some time now.
I would like to learn a bit about your daily routine.

I am a single woman from Germany. I live in Bavaria, a nice mountain area. I have 2 Kids a daughter of 18 and a boy of 12, from my marriage with an Iranian. We are best friends now. I work as a Coach for youngsters (in crisis or drugs) and for an investment company (Fonds).

I have been in the States only once, but worked for several American Companies in Germany.

Do you know, that this Forum is about NLP? Since most of your life, you seem to have made practical experiences, rather than reading, learning and discussing, this might be some new experience for you and CERTAINLY for us.

NLP to me is mainly fun and a lot about communication, learning about other peoples worlds, their inner and out lives and exploring it with all senses.
We enter the world of our potential, of our past, our possible future of phantasie like Disney-World, Rock-n-Roll, Laughter-Word.
Oh gosh don't ever mention the laughing thing, a couple of us would have instant flashs.
We are interested in all kinds of states, that a man can have or be in.
Like the laughing state of course. Or the state of deep relaxation. Or any state thats worthwile to explore in depth.
There was a time, when with the help of drugs, people checked out, what happens with our feelings and senses during these "high" hours, how differently things appear: colors, images, inner films, moods, time flow in slow motion.
A lot of people go for "kicks" and good feelings ... so you chose that path too and had your experiences with it, some great, some other... :- )

So I am interesting to whatever you feel free to tell us about your life right now. And whatever you might care to know about me.

I enjoy music and sports a lot and my hobby is theater, I am in 2 groups.
Oh and I attend a very active brasilian parish with a lot of worship and dance. So here we pray for all that matters to us.

I am glad, Julian with the help of a friend, brought this up, and I am looking forward to reading your next letter!

Sunny regards! Ellen
